[ Holotype: LACM; ♀ Vic. of Estación Microondas “ Ligui,” 425 m, 48 km S Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico; 7 Sep 1977]

Brachynomada chica View in CoL is only known from the holotype collected in September 1977 in La Giganta Ranges, BCS, which we reviewed in LACM. As with the other species in the subgenus Melanomada , this species is presumed to be a cleptoparasite on bees in the genus Anthophorula ( Snelling & Rozen 1987) View in CoL . See fig. 129.
