Anthophora (Micranthophora) curta Provancher, 1895 View in CoL

[ Lectotype: ULQC; ♀ Los Angeles , California, USA]

Anthophora curta View in CoL is widely distributed in the southwestern USA and northern Mexico ( Orr et al. 2018), and is one of the most abundant bee species of the BCP. This species specializes on the pollen from a broad number of hosts in the family Asteraceae ( Orr et al. 2018) View in CoL . Preserved specimens from the BCP are vouchered in many collections including: BBSL, LACM, CSCA, CASC, SEMC, ASUHIC, TAMU ( GBIF 2023; SCAN 2023). We examined 16 specimens (9 ♀, 7 ♂) from CASC. This species has been recorded in all ecoregions of the BCP during this project fieldwork with a wide foraging season from March to November and specimens are vouchered at MABC, and ECOAB (Supplementary material 1). See fig. 72.
