Material examined. JAPAN. Kyushu I.: 1 ♀ ( NIAES) Oita [Ôita] Pref., Mts Kuju, Mt. Daisen , 19.VII.1978, coll. K. Setoya.

Variation. Female from Japan has clypeus with punctures somewhat denser than in material from the continent. Flagellum with 26–27 flagellomeres.

Remarks. This species is similar to P. kunashirica but differs from the latter by the features given in Table 1 View TABLE 1 .

Distribution. Europe, Russian Siberia and Far East; in Japan known from Kyushu island. First record from Japan.
