Type species: Monacantha astuta Diakonoff, 1973

Remarks. The genus Baburia share common character to its nearest genus Sycacantha but differ in certain genitalial features. In Baburia socii weakly developed and sparse bristles towards apex. Uncus sclerotized, long, slender with clavate apex. Gnathos is transvers band, slightly sclerotized. Cucullus shorter, rounded top and crowned with a dark large spine. Aedeagus without cornuti.
