Specimens Examined. ARGENTINA: Pcia. Buenos Aires, Dto. Puan, Felipe Solá , ii.1961, A. Martinez [1♀, MZUSP] . BRAZIL: S~ ao Paulo, Itanhaem, vi.24, R. Spite Leg. [16, MZUSP]. Sao ~ Paulo , Peru´ıbe , vii.1954 [16, MZUSP]. S~ ao Paulo, Guarujá, iii.1923 [26, 1♀ MN/ UFRJ] NEW STATE RECORDS .

Comments. Tomarus rubripes was described from Uruguay, but Neita-Moreno and Ratcliffe (2017) had no definitive evidence of the presence of the species in Uruguay or Argentina. They only confirmed the presence of T. rubripes in Cassino Beach, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (where its junior synonym was described). However , the new record in Argentina supports the validity of the type locality of this South American species that apparently is rare since very few specimens were seen in Brazilian collections. The records presented here extend the distribution of the species 1,150 km north and 700 km south, and it is the first record in the state of S~ ao Paulo .
