Ecology. Endogeic species (Zicsi et al. 2011) found in cultivated soils, forest soils and mountain pastures (Milutinović et al. 2010).

Distribution in Montenegro. Northern Montenegro: Srablje jezero, Modro jezero, Sedlo, Pitomine (Mršić 1983; 1990), Valovito jezero, Barno jezero, Đurđevića Tara, Crna Poda, pod Bobotovim kukom, Kanjon Sušice, Virak (Mršić 1990), Žabljak (Mršić 1991; Karaman & Stojanović 1995), Crno Jezero (Mršić 1983; 1990; Karaman & Stojanović 1995), eastern Montenegro, Bijelo Polje (Šapkarev 1975; Mršić 1991; Karaman & Stojanović 1995), Biševo, Ivangrad (Šapkarev 1975; Mršić 1991), Bjelašnica (Mršić 1991; Stojanović & Karaman 2003), Biogradska gora (Stojanović & Karaman 2003); southern Montenegro: Kotor, Ulcinj, Titograd, Ribnica (Šapkarev 1975; Mršić 1991), Gulf of Bokakotorska (Stojanović & Karaman 2003).

Zoogeographical distribution type. A common peregrine species distributed all over the Balkans (Stojanović et al. 2008), native to the Palearctic.
