Distribution in Brazil: AP, PA, AM, PB, MT, BA, MG, MS, SP, RJ, PR, SC, RS.

Biological aspects: A single male of this species has been collected on a sunny 1st order stream draining from a dam.

Comments: This is the species of Hydrometra with the widest distribution in South America, but only one specimen was caught on the sampling stations visited. Specimens from Nova Xavantina cited by Dias-Silva et al. (2010) actually correspond to a mix of H. comata and H. guianana .
