Plagiognathus albus Reuter, 1894: 147 View in CoL (n. sp.).
Ribes (1978) first examined the male genitalia of this species. His illustrations conform to the genitalic type that I have treated as diagnostic for Plagiognathus , with two flattened, elongate, apical spines. I examined, although did not dissect, a male and a female specimen, collected by J. Ribes near Vinuesa in the Spanish province of Soria; these are part of the same material on which Ribes (1978) based his genitalic illustrations. The coloration is entirely pale, including the legs; the tibial spines are black, but have at most faintly darkened spots at the bases.
HOST: Thymus mastichina (Lamiaceae) ( Ribes, 1978 ).
