Belostoma plebejum ( Stål, 1860)

Geographic distribution. Panama (Sites, in litt.), Venezuela ( Dufour 1863), Brazil ( Stål 1860), Ecuador ( Sites 1990), Peru (Estévez & J. Polhemus 2007), Bolivia (Sites, in litt.), Paraguay (Estévez & J. Polhemus 2007), Argentina ( Berg 1879) , Uruguay ( Ruffinelli & Pirán 1959).

Distribution in Peru. Loreto, Cusco (Estévez & J. Polhemus 2007).

Notes. Records of this species from Central America are erroneous. Several of the records from Argentina might correspond to mixes of species ( Coscarón 2017). Ribeiro & Ferrari (2023) mentioned the occurrence of B. plebejum in Bolivia, but they did not examine any specimens from this country and there are no previously published records from the area.
