Aphiochaeta praeacuta Schmitz, 1919: 115 (male).

Megaselia arietina Disney in Cakar & Disney, 1991: 21 (both sexes). Disney & Campadelli, 1997: 63.

This species is widely distributed in Europe, but seemingly not recorded from Switzerland before. Amale was trapped at Rochefort Chateau, 780 m(CH, NE), Malaise lumineuse, 14–16 July 1982, C. Dufour (CUMZ, 19-176).
