This apparently uncommon, but widespread eucnemid species was previously recorded in Alabama, Florida, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode, Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia, and Wisconsin ( Otto 2022b). It is reported for the first time from Canada and in two new states in the U.S.: CANADA – Ontario; USA – Kentucky and South Carolina. Eleven specimens were taken from Malaise traps placed in Kentucky and South Carolina. One specimen was taken from a Townes Malaise trap placed in Williamsburg KY. Two specimens were taken from flight intercept traps placed in South Carolina. One specimen was taken from a Lindgren funnel trap baited with Ips lure.
