Distribution in India: Sikkim ( Swinhoe 1901); North West Himalayas, West Bengal (Calcutta), throughout South India, ( Hampson 1892, Sanyal et al. 2018); throughout Indian Peninsula ( Mandal & Maulik 1997), Rajasthan ( Chandra et al. 2021), Maharashtra ( Mitra et al. 2019). Global records: The Philippines, Sri Lanka and Sundaland ( Mandal & Maulik 1997).
Remark: Zolotuhin & Witt (2000a) restricted its distribution to Borneo, Bali, Sumatra and Java, without mentioning about T. castanoptera Moore (TL: Kangra valley), T. hyperantherae Moore (TL: Calcutta) and T. intensa Moore (TL: West Bengal).
