Description.

Male. Abdominal segment VIII entirely covered with setiferous punctures, except a narrow medial longitudinal impunctate band; posterior margins of tergite VIII medially protruding backwards, that of sternite VIII slightly protruding backwards (Fig. 15-1A, B). Tergite IX symmetrical, connected mediobasally. Sternite IX symmetrical, with slightly deflected mediobasal margin and obviously emarginated posterior margin (Fig. 15-1C). Tergite X symmetrical, with slightly rounded basal margin and emarginated posterior margin (Fig. 15-1D), in situ broadly exposed between tergite IX. Median lobe of aedeagus subspherical and medium sized (Fig. 15D, E; Fig. 15-1E, F), basal piece without transparent, membranous medial-longitudinal band; basal bulb 0.96 mm long, anterior portion cylindrical and long, 1/3 of basal bulb length. Parameres symmetrical and thin, slightly shorter than 1/2 of basal bulb length. Internal sac with symmetrical spines, apical 2/3 bearing medium sized spines, basal 1/3 with a larger paired spines.

Female. Posterior margin of tergite VIII and sternite VIII slightly arcuate backwards (Fig. 15G). Genital segment medium sized (Fig. 15-1H, I), 0.83 mm long, sternite with slightly bisinuate base, supplementary sclerites semicircle and medium sized, 0.38 mm long, overlapped 2/3 of basal margin of genital sternite.

Distribution. China (Sichuan, Hubei, Henan).

Remarks. This species could be distinguished from its congeners by: 1) dorsal surface distributed with round,

deep, medium-sized punctures, interspaces between punctures 1–2 punctures’ diameters; additional smaller punctures sparsely distributed between frontal furrows or especially densely distributed among median-sized one, which interspaces reduced to narrow longitudinal ridges on frontal region; 2) anterior angles of pronotum obviously widened, lateral margins sinuate with the narrowest at basal 1/3; 3) admedian row of pronotum consisting of 9–10 punctures; lateral row, curvedly arranged, of 7–9 punctures; 4) mesoscutellum s hiny, extensively covered with distinct polygonal recticulum; 5) tergites III–VII covered with mixed microsculpture of transverse microstriae and isodiametric meshes; 6) male tergite X with slightly rounded basal margin and emarginated posterior margin; 7) male sternite IX with deflected mediobasal margin and obviously emarginated posterior margin; 8) anterior portion of median lobe of aedeagus cylindrical and long, 1/3 of basal bulb length; 9) parameres symmetrical and thin, slightly shorter than 1/2 of basal bulb length; 10) internal sac morphology. Although this species has similar external characters with Megalinus flavus (Bordoni) , they could be distinguished by the above combined points of 2, 5, 6–10.
