Synonym of Syntomus truncatellus (Linne, 1761) .

Remarks. Comparison of the holotype and three paratypes of Syntomus ai Barsevskis, 1993 with specimens of Syntomus truncatellus (Linne, 1761) , revealed no characters outside the range of intraspecific variation between the widespread Syntomus truncatellus and establishes Syntomus ai (new synonymy) as a junior synonym of Syntomus truncatellus . In the original description of Syntomus ai all specimens of the type series were listed as males. In fact, the paratype series includes 1 male and 2 females.
