Macrosteles ehensis Zhang View in CoL & Lu, sp. nov.

Length (including tegmen). Male: 3.1 mm.

Greenish yellow; head with irregular confluent black marks except ocelli and a short longitudinal black bands between ocelli and eyes. Forewing transparent white.

Male abdomen. 2nd acrotergite with trunk V-shaped and very thick, neck stout and broad. 2nd tergal apodeme with anterior lobe developed, extending beyond anterior margin, with median projection. 1st abdominal sternal apodemes with anterior lobes well developed and 2.5 times longer than basal width; with posterior lobes rounded, as long as wide. 2nd sternal apodeme with posterior lobes developed and narrow, extending beyond the sternum posterior margin; with base distance 2.0 times as long as basal width.

Male genitalia. Aedeagal shaft smooth; apical appendages crossed.

Holotype: male, CHINA, Xinjiang Autonomous Prov., 183 Corps, 2.viii.2001, Coll. Huangmin (NWAFU). Paratypes: 1 male same data as holotype (NWAFU).

Distribution. China (Xinjiang).

Remarks. This species resembles M. sordidipennis and M. gracilis in the characters of the aedeagus, but can be differentiated from the latter by the characters of the male abdomen: neck of 2nd acrotergite stout and broad; 1st abdominal sternal apodemes with anterior lobes well-developed and 2.5 times longer than basal width; 2nd sternal apodeme with the posterior lobes slender and narrow.

Etymology. The specific epithet “ ehensis ” indicates it is from the countryside of the type locality in Xinjiang Autonomous Region.
