Type material: Holotype ECOSUR 057 View Materials Herradura Point , Southern Mexican Caribbean , 30.XI.2000; 80m. Paratypes LACM-AHF 2202 (2) Herradura Point , Southern Mexican Caribbean , 30.XI.2000; 80m.

Diagnosis: Holotype complete, with 82 segments, 32mm long, thorax 2mm wide. Eyespots dark, placed laterally. Branchiae on segments 3, 4 and 7. Nine pairs of nephridial papillae from segment 6. Forty or more pairs of notopodia; notochaetae with distal oblique and serrated region. Uncini in double rows from segment 10 to posterior body, in double separated rows, face to face, in thorax and abdomen, and in single rows in several posterior uncinigers; uncini MF:1:4:4.

Staining Pattern: Ventral shields stain deeply; nephridial papillae stain slightly, but darker than the remaining structures that remain, even tentacles and branchiae.

Variations: Additional specimens are 30–47mm long, 1.5–5.0mm wide. The ventral shields vary from 14 in the holotype, to 18 in additional specimens examined.

Discussion: A complete description of the species is presented by Londoño-Mesa and Carrera-Parra (2005). In this report the distribution of this species is expanded to include the Gulf of Mexico (Veracruz), and some islands in the Antilles as Dominican Republic and Grenada. This species differs from T. hiata comb. nov., by having branchiae on segments 3, 4 and 7, instead of 2, 5 and 8.

Type locality: Herradura Point , Southern Mexican Caribbean .

Distribution: Southern Mexican Caribbean , Dominican Republic, and Grenada Island (Lesser Antilles). From 18 to 80m.
