ORDER SAURISCHIA
SUBORDER THEROPODA
Family Teratosauridae
Teratosaurus and its allies are known from only very fragmentary material, and their position has been the subject of a great deal of controversy. From its traditional assignment as a primitive theropod some have argued that it is really a carnivorous prosauropod, while others have questioned whether it is a saurischian at all. For purposes of this catalogue the conservative position is accepted.
