Description:—Annual plant has a taproot. Root length 4–13 cm. Stem is clearly quadrangular, ascending or erect, aproximately 13.5–41 cm, densely to sparsely pubescent. Basal leaves are simple, petiolate (petiole 8–36 mm), ovate– lanceolate or oblong, 10–40 × 7–23 mm, edges slightly crenate and pilose. Median leaves 15–48 × 6–24 mm, petiolate (petiole 4–19 mm), lamina ovate, ovate–lanceolate or oblong, subentire to crenate, pilose. Upper leaves are similar to lower leaves but smaller. Bracts 7–55 × 4–39 mm, oblong-ovate to ovate lanceolate, crenate to dentate. Bracteoles are lanceolat, 2.4–7.4 × 0.7–2.6 mm, ciliate. Calyx is 7–16 mm, with villos and ciliate hairs, bilabiate 10–veined. Bilabiate corolla is purplish–mauve or pale to deep pink, with darker markings on lower lip, 9–21 mm. Stamens didynamous, stigma bifid. Nutlets are 1.93–2.82 × 0.87–1.5 mm, ovoid in outline and trigonous in cross section. The nutlet surface glabrous and blackish-dark brownish ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ).
