Measurements. Body length males: 4.6–5.8 mm, females: 4.9–6.0 mm.

Description. Body elongate. Head black, labrum fulvous, underside of mouth parts brown; antennae dark brown but four basal antennomeres fulvous. Pronotum orange. Scutellum black. Elytra fulvous, each elytron with a round spot at humerus, in some darker specimens, each elytron with an indistinct marking at its posterio-median. Ventral side of body black, prothoracic hypomeron fulvous. Legs light brown except knees and claws black.

Head densely covered with silvery pubescence. Mandibles short, labrum narrow, slightly incised at anterior margin, with sparse pubescence; clypeus with coarse punctures, anterior margin “V”-shaped incised; frons covered with dense wrinkles and coarse punctures, median with impression; vertex convex, with indistinct punctures. Antennae robust, extending to base of prothorax, pubescent, 1 st antennomere strongly elevated dorsally, 2 nd small and round, 3 rd oval, smaller than the second, 4 th widely triangular, 5 th -10 th serrate, last segment long and conical.

Prothorax transverse, 1.61 times as wide as long, convex; anterior margin slightly concave, lateral margins slightly arcuate, convergent anteriad, posterior margin sinuated; anterior angles rectangular, posterior ones broadly rounded, lateral margins narrowly bordered; surface lustrous, basal lobed area with few sparse punctures. Scutellum triangular, with fine punctures, basally with pubescence, apex slightly elevated over elytral surface.

Elytra cylindrical, 1.72 times as long as wide at humeral part, humeri as broad as prothorax; surface covered with shallow punctures, interstices 0.5 times to three times as wide as the diameter of a puncture; epipleura with sparse and short pubescence.

Ventral side of body and legs thickly clothed with long silvery pubescence; apex of pygidium arcuate. Legs robust, tarsi broad, length ratio of protarsomeres 1.6:1.3:0.3:1.8.

Aedeagus long, bent ventrally, basal 2/3 paler and less sclerotized than apical 1/3; underside of apical part with sparse short pubescence.

Female. Body more robust; anterior margin of clypeus shallowly incised; prothorax narrower than humeri; apex of pygidium truncate; spermatheca hook-shaped, spermathecal duct very pale, basal part thickened, nearly uncoiled; ventral rectal sclerites large, inner part more sclerotized, dorsal central sclerite “T” shaped; inner margin of lateral sclerites sclerotized, while outer part semi-pellucid.

Distribution: China (Sichuan).

Etymology. The species is dedicated to the leaf beetle taxonomist, Professor Juan Jie Tan.

Remarks. Exomis tanae sp. nov. is similar to E. deqinensis sp. nov. in body size, but this new species has fulvous legs and a spot at each humerus, while E. deqinensis sp. nov. has black legs and no marking at humerus.
