American M. forbesae Smith and Welch, 1913 , the central-eastern African

. elgonensis Cernosvitov, 1938 and the four European species M. libra Nielsen and Christensen, 1959 , M. mesopsamm a Lasserre, 1964, M. weilli Lasserre, 1964 and. arenaria Healy, 1979. However, in none of these species do the spermathecae extend behind V, and moreover discrepancies exist between them and M. righiana other characters (e.g. shape of chaetae, rst position and / or shape of the nephridia, location of the head pore).
