Material examined

Holotype, adult female, from under bark, Waywood ph, Adelaide, Australia, coll. F. Womersley, 15 Sept. 1940. In SAM.

Paratype, 1 adult female, from under Suc bark, Australia, coll. F. Womersley, 4 Apr. 1937. In SAM.

Diagnosis

Adult female. Peritremes with 1 loop; palptarsus with 2 + 2 eupathidia + 1; a pair of pdx present; idiosomal setae lanceolate, c1, c2, d1, e1 and f1 longer than others; c1: c2 = 1.0 (1.0–1.1), d1: d2 = 1.3 (1.3–1.5), e1: e2 = 1.3 (1.2–1.3), c1: d1: e1: f1 = 1.1: 1.1: 1.1: 1.0; femora (I–IV) with 4, 3, 2, 1. Setae on genua lanceolate, ratio I: II: III: IV= 1.0: 1.1: 1.3 (1.2–1.3): 2.1 (1.7–2.1).

ADULT MALE. Unknown.

Remarks

Neophyllobius womersleyi sp. n. resembles N. aegyptium Soliman & Zaher, 1967 in having similar setal numbers on the legs, but can be readily distinguished from the latter because the setae on the genua are lanceolate and the seta on genu IV is the longest.
