Diagnosis. Frons with a broad brown rectangular stripe extending from anterior margin to ocellar triangle. Arista white, pubescent. Fore tarsomeres 2–5 brown to blackish brown. Wing mostly brown, clear hyaline surrounding darkened crossveins r-m and dm-cu; with crescent-shaped clear hyaline areas at margin between tips of R2+3 and R4+5, and R4+5 and M1. Abdominal tergites 1–5 each dark brown, with basal yellow areas.
Redescription. MALE. Body length 3.4–4.3 mm, wing length 3.3–4.0 mm. FEMALE. Body length 3.4–4.3 mm, wing length 3.3–3.7 mm.
Head ( Figs. 67–68, 70 View FIGURES 67 – 72 , 73–74 View FIGURES 73 – 74 ) yellow. Frons with a broad brown rectangular stripe extending from anterior margin to ocellar triangle, and with short setulae on anterior 1/2; nearly 2.2 times longer than wide and parallelsided; ocellar triangle grayish black; anterior fronto-orbital setae reclinate, shorter than the posterior; gena about 1/ 2 height of eye, with wide brown stripe. Antenna brownish yellow, with 1st flagellomere rounded apically, nearly 1.1 times longer than high; arista white, pubescent. Orbito-antennal spot distinct, present as a black velvety spot between eye and base of antenna. Proboscis mostly yellow except pale brown at tip; palpus yellow.
Thorax ( Figs. 67–68 View FIGURES 67 – 72 , 73–74 View FIGURES 73 – 74 ) dark brown, with grayish white pruinosity. Mesonotum with narrow dorsocentral vittae and a narrow yellow median vitta, all extending through otherwise brown scutellum, with median stripe widening posteriorly to edge; 0+3 dorsocentral setae, acrostichal setulae in 4 rows; prescutellar acrostichal seta shorter than 1st postsutural dorsocentral seta; anepisternum and katepisternum blackish brown with grayish white pruinosity, a narrow yellow band along dorsal margin of anepisternum; 1 anepisternal seta, 1 katepisternal seta. Legs mostly yellow, except tibiae with blackish brown apical ring and fore tarsomeres 2–5 brown. Fore femur with 5 posteroventral setae and 8 posterodorsal setae; fore tibia with 1 preapical anterodorsal seta and 1 short apicoventral seta. Mid femur with 1 apicoposterior seta; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical anterodorsal seta, 1 strong apicoventral seta. Hind femur with 1 weak preapical anterodorsal seta; hind tibia with 1 preapical anterodorsal seta and 1 short apicoventral seta. Wing ( Fig. 71 View FIGURES 67 – 72 ) mostly brown, clear hyaline surrounding darkened crossveins r-m and dm-cu; with crescent-shaped clear hyaline areas at margin between tips of R2+3 and R4+5, and R4+5 and M1; subcostal cell brown; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 6.3:1.3:1; crossvein r-m beyond middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1:1.4; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/7 of penultimate. Halter yellow except knob blackish brown.
Abdomen ( Figs. 67, 69 View FIGURES 67 – 72 , 73 View FIGURES 73 – 74 ) dark brown, with sparse grayish white pruinosity. Abodominal tergites 1–5 each with yellow areas basally, male tergite 6 and female tergites 6–7 with blackish brown posterior margin (yellow at middle of posterior margin in a few specimens), male sternite 6 membranous. Male genitalia ( Figs 17–20 View FIGURES 17 – 20 , 72 View FIGURES 67 – 72 ): epandrium with pair of short black conical dorsoapical processes in lateral view and a ventral bridge in posterior view; surstylus with short incurved digitiform process with setulae in lateral view; hypandrium very slender, with pair of broad lateral processes; phallus curled outward in ventral view and hooked apically in lateral view.
