Holotype: MZUSP 14596, 61 mm SL.

Type locality: SW side of Belmonte Islet, Saint Paul’s Rocks, NE of Natal, Brazil, central Atlantic Ocean. Illustrations: Anderson & Heemstra, 2012, fig. 14; Lubbock & Edwards, 1981:140, fig. 2; Luiz et al., 2007:1284 & 1285, figs. 1 & 2.

D: X, 15. A: III, 7. P: 20 to 22. C: 15 (8 + 7). V: 26 (10 + 16). S: 2. GR: 32 to 35 (9 to 11 + 23 to 25). LL: 46 to 51. CP: 26 to 28.

Distribution: known only from Saint Paul's Rocks (00°55' N, 29°21' W), a group of islets on the Mid–Atlantic Ridge just north of the equator (ca. 970 kilometers northeast of Natal, Brazil). ( Anderson & Heemstra, 2012:63).
