Type locality: off northwest coast of South Island, New Zealand (40°48.8' S, 171°24.6' E), depth 267 to 273 meters. Illustrations: Roberts, 1989:581, fig. 8; Roberts, 2015:1193, fig. 166.12.

Distribution: New Zealand off North and South Islands and over offshore banks.
