Holotype: BSMP (apparently destroyed, Eschmeyer et al., online).

Type locality: Maricaban Island , Philippines.

D: X, 15 to 17 (usually 16). A: III, 7 or 8 (usually 7). P: 15 to 17 (usually 16). C: 15 (8 + 7).

V: 26 (10 + 16). S: 3. GR: 8 to 10 + 22 to 26. LL: 45 to 49. CP: 23 to 26.

Distribution: southeastern Indian Ocean and western Pacific: Indonesia to Solomon Islands and Australia to Japan.
