Pseudanthias heemstrai Schumacher, Krupp, & Randall, 1989 

Holotype: SMF 23176, 96 mm SL, male.

Type locality: in front of Marine Science Station, 12 kilometers south of Aqaba, Jordan, Gulf of Aqaba, Red Sea (29°45' N, 34°58' E), depth 20 meters. Illustrations: Heemstra & Akhilesh, 2012:145 (fig. 28), 146 (fig. 29); Schumacher et al., 1989:339 (fig. 1), 343 (pls. 1–8).

D: X (XI), 15 to 17. A: III, 7. P: 16 or 17. C: 15. V: 26 (11 + 15), occasionally 27 (11 + 16). S: 3. GR: 11 or 12 + 26 to 31. LL: 42 to 47. CP: 24 to 26.

Distribution: endemic to the Red Sea.
