Diagnosis. Species with genae longer than (males and most females) or as long as (some females) antennal segment I, their apices often bent upward. Distinguished from A. hylas sp. nov. by characters given in the key.

Description. Glabrous and bicoloured, dark brown with yellowish posterior margins of deltg III–VI and median elevation of mtgV. Head longer than wide (17/15.5); genae longer than clypeus, reaching beyond apex of antennal segment I, apex bifid, often bent upward; antennae 1.61 times as long as width of head, segments I/II/III/ IV = 6.5/3.5/8/7; postocular lobes rounded. Thorax: pronotum 2.75 times as wide as long (22/8), paranota narrow, rounded and reflexed, only slightly produced anterolaterally; lateral margins convex. Scutellum 2.57 times as wide as long (18/7). Mtg I+II with a shallow median depression flanked by dispersed granules. Abdomen with tergal plate moderately elevated at middle; pe-angles of deltg III-VII laterally produced. Pygophore narrow, pear shaped with conical ridge. Measurements: Holotype male: length 3.45 mm; length of antennae 1.25 mm; width of abdomen 1.65 mm.

Etymology. The species epithet is a Latinized Greek mythical name of Castor , an Argonaut, famous horseman; noun in apposition.

Distribution. This species is known from Tanzania: South and North Pare Mts. and West Usambara Mts.
