( Figs. 14–15 View FIGURE 14 View FIGURE 15 )

Description ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 ). Body with golden short decumbent setae. Head black; clypeus pale yellow; antenna generally brownish yellow, apical three quarters of segment IV tinged with brown or dark brown; labium brown, with segment II and tip of segment IV dark brown. Head and anterior lobe of pronotum with concolourous black punctures. Pronotum with anterior lobe black and posterior lobe brown; posterior lobe with four vague longitudinal dark brown stripes, and also with pale median longitudinal ridge. Posterior lobe of pronotum and corium with brown punctures. Scutellum black in basal half and brown in apical half; apical half of scutellum with pale median longitudinal ridge. Corium white in basal two thirds and black in distal one third; vague black spot present at inner angle; clavus white, with longitudinal black stripe along claval commissure; hemelytral membrane hyaline, with oval brownish spot at middle. Venter of head and thorax almost black, covered with dense decumbent silvery hairs; antennifer yellowish brown; buccula pale yellow. Peritreme dark brown with apex orange red. Coxae dark brown; trochanters, femora and tibiae pale yellow; base of tibiae with vague brown annulations; tarsomere I pale yellow, apex of tarsomere I, tarsomeres II and III pale brown. Abdomen blackish brown, with median area and laterotergite reddish brown.

Structure. Eyes occupying nearly half area of head in lateral view. Antennae covered with both erect and suberect setae; labium slightly exceeding posterior margin of prothorax, not reaching mesocoxae. Pronotum covered with dense punctures; posterior lobe slightly more convex than anterior lobe; posterior margin almost straight. Scutellum weakly tumid transversely in basal half. Hemelytra exceeding apex of abdomen; claval suture slightly longer than apical margin of corium. Clavus with three complete rows of punctures. Profemur moderately expanded, armed with a spine and the other small spine ventrally at about apical third; tibiae and tarsi covered with sparsely long erect and short suberect setae. Hemelytra almost fully covering abdominal connexivum; sternum covered with sparsely long erect and dense short decumbent setae. Male resembles female in general appearance.

Abdomen ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 a–d): Sutures between tergites IV–V and V–VI parallely curved caudad in the middle area, VI–VII straight. Laterotergite II triangular. Tergites III–VI with regular dense punctures, and tergite VII with a little larger sparse irregular punctures. Sternites I–III fused together. Trichobothria on sternites III and IV almost linear.

Male ( Fig. 15a, b View FIGURE 15 ): Inner laterotergites not distinct. Distal margin of tergite VII curved. Posterior margins of sternites III–V straight, VI concaved cephalad. Mid length of sternite VI about one half of sternite VII. Male genitalia ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 e–j): Pygophore covered with suberect setae, with two protuberances on the outer posterodorsal wall of pygophore; cuplike sclerite fused with median projection of pygophore. Paramere with pointed outer lobe, and blade sickle-shape. Phallosoma about twice as long as its width.

Female ( Fig. 15c, d View FIGURE 15 ): Inner laterotergites III–VI present. Without any apodemes present on anterior margin of tergite VIII. Mid line of sternites I–V weakly sclerotized ( Fig. 15d View FIGURE 15 ). Posterior margins of sternites III–V straight, VI weakly sinuate. Middle margin of two halves of sternite VII strongly curved laterally and overlapped. Shapes of spermatheca, first and second gonapophysis shown in Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 k–n.

Measurements. [Holotype ♂ / Paratype ♀]. Body length 4.97 / 5.30; maximum width across hemelytra 1.45 / 1.78; head length 0.55 / 0.66, head width across eyes 1.26 / 1.38; length of antennal segments I–IV respectively 0.37 / 0.34, 0.62 / 0.59, 0.59 / 0.62, 0.92 / 0.89; length of labial segments 0.39 / 0.32, 0.32 / 0.43, 0.37 / 0.39, 0.30 / 0.32; mesal pronotal length 1.08 / 1.25; anterior pronotal lobe length 0.53 / 0.57; posterior pronotal lobe length 0.56 / 0.68; anterior pronotal width 1.06 / 1.26; posterior pronotal width 1.45 / 1.71; mesal scutellar length 0.81 / 1.01; basal scutellar width 0.78 / 1.02; hemelytral length 3.11 / 3.35.

Types Examined. CHINA: HOLOTYPE, ♂, Yunnan, Menglun \ Ficus sp. [host] \ [19]87. IV. 9, Zou Huan- guang leg. (hw) ( NKUM) ; PARATYPE, 1♀, Yunnan, Xishuangbanna \ Menglun \ 1987. IV. 9, Zou leg. (hw) (NKUM).

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Etymology. The species epithet, biprotuberans , derived from Latin, “ protubero ”, refers to the presence of two protuberances on the outer posterodorsal wall of the pygophore.

Remarks. The new species is similar to S. melasmus in general appearance, but it can be easily distinguished from the latter by the genitalia characters: outer posterodorsal wall of pygophore has two outgrowths or protuberances (vs. without distinct outgrowths or protuberances in S. melasmus ) ( Figs. 13e View FIGURE 13 ; 15e View FIGURE 15 ); apex of spermathecal bulb narrowed and pointed (vs. truncate and broad) ( Figs. 13d View FIGURE 13 ; 15l View FIGURE 15 ); the shapes of median projection of pygophore and paramere are also slightly different ( Figs.13e View FIGURE 13 ; 15e View FIGURE 15 ).
