( Figs. 23 View FIGURE 23 –24)

Description ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 ). Head brownish ochraceous, covered with short decumbent golden hairs, marked with some obtuse dark spots on lateral sides of ocellus, tip and base of clypeus and sutures between juga and clypeus; ocellus red; eyes reddish brown; antenna generally ochraceous with apical two third of segment IV slightly fuscous; labium ochraceous with tip fuscous. Pronotum almost same colour with head; midline on posterior lobe and posterior margin slightly lighter; posterolateral angles fuscous in some specimens. Scutellum almost same colour with pronotum, with median area darker and midline in posterior half lighter. Hemelytra pale ochraceous; corium covered with brown punctures; claval commissure brown; hemelytral membrane hyaline, without any spot at middle. Venter almost brownish ochraceous; meso- and metasterna blackish brown. Femora pale ochraceous with a fuscous spot on upper surface a little beyond middle. Most part of male pygophore blackish brown.

Abdomen (Fig. 24a–d): Anterior margin of tergite I, posterior margin of tergite II, and all the areas of tergites III–VI except anterolateral angles covered with large dense punctures. Sternites I–V fused. Trichobothria with middle one of that on sternites III–IV slightly behind other two.

Male (Fig. 24a, b): Only inner laterotergites III–IV present. Sutures between tergites VI–VII straight; distal margin of tergite VII slightly curved caudad. Posterior margins of sternites III–IV straight, V slightly, VI strongly concaved cephalad; mid length of sternite VI about one third of sternite VII. Male genitalia (Fig. 24e–j): Cuplike sclerite not fused with posterior margin of pygophore opening, without any ridge or outgrowth; apex of cuplike sclerite truncate; lateral margin of pygophore opening with small outgrowth. Paramere with obtuse outer lobe and blade sickle-shaped.

Female (Fig. 24c, d): Inner laterotergites III–VI present. Anterolateral angles of tergite VIII with anterolateral apodemes (as Fig. 9k View FIGURE 9 ); sutures between tergites VI–VII slightly sinuate. Mid line of sternites I–V weakly sclerotized (Fig. 24d); two halves of medially completely bisected sternite VII even longer therefore posterior margins of only sternite III straight, sternites IV–VI greatly narrowed in midline. Female genitalia: Spermathecal bulb and distal part of duct sclerotized; bulb globular, without any rim or flange.

Distribution. China (Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Sichuan, Tianjin).

Etymology. The species epithet “ abathonotus ” is derived from Greek “ abathes ” and “noto”, referring to the shallow constriction on the pronotum.

Remarks. This new species is similar to S. pallescens in lighter body colour, but it can be distinguished from the latter by female sternites IV–VI greatly narrowed in midline (vs. sternites IV–VI not narrowed in midline in S. pallescens ); anterior and posterior lobes of pronotum quite shallowly constricted (vs. distinctly constricted); posterior margin of pronotum slightly concaved (vs. slightly convex); body length less than 4.5mm (vs. body length longer than 5mm); tibia without any annulations (vs. tibia with two annulations).
