Diagnosis. Male. In the group VIII key of Borgmeier (1966), M. rodriguezorum keys to to M. dakotensis Borgmeier [now considered to be M. halterata (Wood) ] from which it differs by lacking the light coloration and dense setation of M. halterata’s venter and the spinelike left process of the hypandrium ( Fig 25 View FIGURES 19 – 27 , 87 View FIGURES 87 – 92 ).

Distribution. Los Angeles, California ( USA).

Etymology. Named in honor of the Rodriguez family, hosts of BioSCAN site 9.

Biology. Unknown.
