Material examined. Romania: Suceava county: Clit [brook], 47°44'41''N E 25°51'05''E, 446 m a.s.l., 31.vii.2011, 533 4ƤƤ.

Notes. New to the fauna of Romania. Several other species were collected among N. maculata , such as Nepa cinerea Linnaeus, 1758 (Nepidae) , Sigara (Pseudovermicorixa) nigrolineata nigrolineata (Fieber, 1848) (Corixidae) , N. glauca glauca Linnaeus, 1758 (Notonectidae) , Hydrometra stagnorum (Linnaeus, 1758) (Hydrometridae) , Gerris lacustris (Linnaeus, 1758) , and Limnoporus rufoscutellatus (Latreille, 1807) (both Gerridae ). Distribution. Southern and central Europe, Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, northern Africa, Turkey, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Pakistan ( Polhemus 1995; Protiċ 1998, 2011; Martín & López 2004; Kanyukova 2006; Soós et al. 2009; Fent et al. 2011).
