scientific name

Phanocloidea magnifica ( Redtenbacher, 1908: 410 )
status

12. Phanocloidea magnifica ( Redtenbacher, 1908: 410) [ Bostra ]. HT, ♀: Central-Brasilien [SMNS—lost]. comb. n.

Remarks: Unfortunately the holotype of Bostra magnifica is not traced in the collection of SMNS and presumed lost ( Hennemann & Conle, 2003: 7). The brief original description does not allow a confirmed generic affiliation, but several characters mentioned by Redtenbacher (1908: 410) suggest P. magnifica to be similar to P. cyrtocnemis ( Bates, 1865) and P. pastazae ( Hebard, 1924) . It is also not unlikely that P. magnifica is the opposite sex of either P. laticauda ( Bates, 1865) or P. serricauda ( Bates, 1865) .

Distribution: Central Brazil [SMNS—lost].
