scientific name

Globocalynda nuptialis ( Redtenbacher, 1908: 410 )
status

6. Globocalynda nuptialis ( Redtenbacher, 1908: 410) [ Bostra ]. HT, ♂: ♂, Guyane, M.H.de Saussure; Dyme annulata Carl ♂ [ MHNG]. comb. n. ( Figs. 20C View FIGURE 20 , 23C View FIGURE 23 )

= Dyme annulata Carl, 1913: 32 . HT, ♂: ♂, Guyane, M.H.de Saussure; Dyme annulata Carl ♂ [MHNG]. syn. n. [Junior objective synonym]

Remarks: The holotype of Bostra nuptialis Redtenbacher, 1908 ( Fig. 20C View FIGURE 20 ) was previously believed lost, because it was not traced in the collection of MHNG ( Zompro & Brock, 2003: 18). However, examination and measuring of the holotype of Dyme annulata Carl, 1913 in MHNG and comparison with the original description and measurements of B. nuptialis have shown this to be the presumed lost holotype of Redtenbacher’s species. Thus, the descriptions of both species were based on the same specimen, why Dyme annulata is a junior objective synonym of Redtenbacher’s nuptialis (syn. n.).

Distribution: Guyana [MHNG].
