Diagnosis. Among the Tibetan Colletes , females of C. haubrugei can be readily diagnosed through the combination of relatively long malar area and F1, which are 1.25× as long as basal width of mandible and 1.4× as long as its apical width, respectively. Males are unique in having the combination of clypeus longer than broad and S5 with a pair of patches of inwardly-directed hairs apicolaterally. Colletes haubrugei is most similar to C. hedini , but these species can be differentiated by the hind basitarsus 3.25× as long as broad in females of C. haubrugei (hind basitarsus 3.75× as long as broad in females of C. hedini ) and the metasomal terga with well-defined apical bands in males of C. haubrugei (apical bands either absent or indicated solely by slightly denser pubescence in males of C. hedini ).

Remarks. The gonostylus of C. haubrugei is uniquely remarkably enlarged and broadened towards the apex ( Fig. 6E View FIGURE 6 ), making the species unmistakable among all species of Colletes known to us.
