Diagnosis. Predominantly black; abdomen with yellow stripes, best seen in posterior view; wing with a light brown spot next to the apex.

Description. Female. Body length: 12.43mm. Wing length: 10.14mm.

Head. Frons dark brown to black, with silver gray pollinosity beside the mid-callus and by the margin of the eyes, best seen in dorsal view. Frontal index: 4.24. Divergence index: 1.19. Frontal callus as wide as frons, dark brown, shiny. Subcallus dark brown to black, shiny; silver gray pollinosity next to eye margin and on base of antenna. Antenna dark brown to black; scape and pedicel with black hairs; flagellum with golden pollinosity; basal flagellomere with ventral angle and dorsal spine reaching the third flagellomere. Palpus dark brown to black, with gray pollinosity and black hairs mixed with few white hairs. Face dark brown to black with silver gray pollinosity. Parafacia dark brown to black with silver gray pollinosity and black hairs. Gena dark brown to black with silver gray pollinosity and black hairs, with few white hairs next to the postgena. Postgena dark brown to black with silver gray pollinosity and white hairs.

Thorax. Scutum and scutellum dark brown to black with black hairs and gray pollinosity. Postpronotal lobe lighter than the scutum, with white hairs proximally and black hairs distally. Notopleuron lighter than the scutum, with black hairs. Proepisternum dark brown to black with gray pollinosity, with white hairs mixed with few black hairs. Proepimeron dark brown to black with gray pollinosity and black hairs. Anepisternum dark brown to black, with sparse gray pollinosity, with black hairs, except for few white hairs next to base of wing. Anepimeron and katatergite dark brown to black, with sparse gray pollinosity and black hairs. Katepisternum dark brown to black, with sparse gray pollinosity and black hairs. Katepimeron dark brown to black with dense silver gray pollinosity and few black hairs posterodorsally. Coxa dark brown to black, with gray pollinosity and mixed white and black hairs. Femur dark brown to black with black hairs. Tibiae 1 and 2 proximally dark brown with white hairs on the anterior, anterodorsal, dorsal, posterodorsal and posterior sides; the other parts of the tibiae dark brown with black hairs. Tibia 3 dark brown to black with black hairs, except for white hairs proximally on the anterodorsal side. Tarsus dark brown to black with black hairs, except for reddish hairs on the ventral side. Wing yellow with a light brown spot on the middle-distal part of the cells r1 and r2+3. Venation yellow to light brown. Pterostigma yellow. Halter yellow, with whitish apex.

Abdomen. Tergite 1 yellow with yellow hairs. The other tergites dark brown to black proximally with black hairs and distal margin yellow with a row of yellow hairs, forming bands, best seen in posterior view; in dorsal view the bands seems incomplete. Sternite 1 yellow with yellow hairs. The other sternites dark brown to black with black hairs proximally and distal margin yellow with a conspicuous row of yellow hairs.

Description. Male. Body length: 12.57mm. Wing length: 9mm.

Head. Dorsal part of the eye light brown with large ommatidia; ventral part of the eye black with small ommatidia. Subcallus dark brown to black, shiny, with silver gray pollinosity only on base of antenna. Basal flagellomere with dorsal spine reaching first flagellomere. Palpus dark brown to black with gray pollinosity and black hairs.

Thorax. few white hairs proximally, behind the head. Postpronotal lobe lighter than the scutum, with gray pollinosity and white hairs. Tibiae 1 and 2 entirely dark brown to black with black hairs, except for white hairs proximally on anterior, anterodorsal, dorsal, posterodorsal and posterior sides.

Abdomen. As described for the female.

Type-locality. Brazil: Amazonas: Manaus and Itacoatiara.

Distribution. Brazil (Amazonas).

Etymology. The specific epithet is in honour of Dr. Ruth Leila Ferreira Keppler.
