Diagnosis. Predominantly black; palpus slender, with short hairs.

Redescription. Female (lectotype and paralectotype). Head. Frons black, with gray pollinosity beside the frontal callus. Frontal callus narrower than frons, dark brown to black. Vertex with a slight depression. Subcallus dark brown with yellowish-gray pollinosity. Scape and pedicel dark brown with black hairs; flagellum dark brown to black, with golden pollinosity. Basal flagellomere with dorsal spine reaching the second flagellomere. Face and parafacia dark brown with yellowish-gray pollinosity. Gena and postgena dark brown with yellowish-gray pollinosity and dark brown hairs. Palpus slender, dark brown to black with short black hairs.

Thorax. Scutum and scutellum dark brown to black with gray pollinosity and black hairs. Postpronotal lobe lighter than the scutum, with white hairs proximally. Proespisternum and proepimeron dark brown to black with yellowish gray pollinosity and black hairs. Anepisternum, anepimeron and katatergite dark brown to black, with black hairs. Katepisternum dark brown to black, with sparse silver pollinosity, best seen in dorsal view, and dark brown hairs. Coxa dark brown to black, with gray pollinosity and black hairs. The other parts of the leg entirely dark brown with black hairs, except for reddish hairs on the ventral side of the tarsus. Wing dark brown with hyaline apex. Venation brown. Pterostigma brown. Halter brown.

Abdomen. Tergites and sternites entirely dark brown to black, with black hairs.

Measurements. (n = 1, Itaituba, 10.x.1977) Body length: 17.71mm. Wing length: 15.14mm. Frontal index: 3.09. Divergence index: 0.79.

Male: unknown.

Type-locality. Brazil (Mato Grosso: Campos Novos).

Distribution. Brazil (Mato Grosso, Pará).
