Diagnosis. Abdomen dark brown to black with yellow median triangles.

Redescription. Female. Head. Frons dark brown with sparse dark brown hairs; few white hairs laterally to mid-callus. Frontal callus and frons equally broad. Subcallus dark brown, shiny; base of antenna yellow with yellow pollinosity. Antenna dark brown; scape dark brown, with mixed black and white hairs; pedicel dark brown with black hairs; flagellum lighter than pedicel with golden pollinosity; basal flagellomere with dorsal spine clubbed, reaching first flagellomere. Palpus long, dark brown with black hairs. Face and parafacia dark brown, with silver pollinosity and few dark brown hairs. Gena dark brown, with sparse silver pollinosity and dense dark brown hairs. Postgena dark brown, with dark brown hairs.

Thorax. Scutum and scutellum dark brown with black hairs and silver pollinosity in frontal view. Postpronotal lobe dark brown, with white hairs proximally and black hairs distally. Notopleuron dark brown to black, with yellowish-gray pollinosity and black hairs. Proepisternum dark brown with gray pollinosity and black hairs. Proepimeron, anepisternum, anepimeron and katatergite dark brown with black hairs. Katepisternum dark brown with gray pollinosity and black hairs. Femur, tibia and tarsus dark brown with black hairs, except for white hairs proximally on the anterodorsal and dorsal sides of the hind tibia and for reddish hairs on the ventral side of the tarsus.

Wing light brown, with apex and ventral margin yellowish, almost hyaline; light spots in middle of cells d, cua1, cup, bm and br and in the base of r1. Venation brown. Pterostigma brown. Halter brown, lighter at apex.

Abdomen. Tergites dark brown to black with triangles of yellow hairs in middle of the distal margins and yellow hairs laterally on the distal margin of tergite 1; the remaining hairs black. Sternites dark brown with black hairs and distal margins yellow with yellow hairs, forming bands.

Measurements. (n = 1) Body length: 15 mm. Wing length: 13.71mm. Frontal index: 3.91. Divergence index: 1.25.

Redescription. Male. Head. Eye bicolor ; dorsal part dark red with large ommatidia, ventral part black with small ommatidia. Subcallus dark brown, with silver pollinosity; base of antenna with yellow pollinosity. Scape brown, with black hairs mixed with few white hairs; pedicel brown with black hairs; flagellum brown with golden pollinosity; basal flagellomere with dorsal spine reaching first flagellomere. Face and parafacia dark brown with silver pollinosity. Gena and postgena dark brown with dark brown hairs. Palpus dark brown, with long dark brown to black hairs.

Thorax. Scutum and scutellum dark brown with gray pollinosity and black hairs. Postpronotal lobe lighter than the scutum, with white hairs and few black hairs distally. Notopleuron dark brown to black, with yellow pollinosity and black hairs. Proepisternum, proepimeron, anepisternum, anepimeron and katatergite dark brown with dark brown to black hairs. Katepisternum dark brown with silver pollinosity and black hairs. Katepimeron dark brown with silver pollinosity. Coxa dark brown with gray pollinosity and dark brown to black hairs. Femur, tibia and tarsus dark brown with black hairs, except for white hairs proximally on the anterodorsal side of fore tibia and reddish hairs on the ventral side of the tarsus. Wing light brown, with ventral margin and apex lighter, almost hyaline. Venation brown. Pterostigma light brown. Halter light brown, yellowish at apex.

Abdomen. Tergites dark brown with triangles of yellow hairs in middle of the distal margins and light yellow hairs in the posterior-lateral margin of tergite 1; the remaining hairs black. Sternites dark brown with black hairs, except for dense yellow hairs in the posterior-lateral margins of sternites 2 and 3, yellow hairs gradually mixing with black hairs towards the postero-lateral margins of the others tergites.

Measurements. (n = 1) Body length: 14.86mm. Wing length: 12.29mm.

Type-locality. Brazil (Espírito Santo).

Distribution. Brazil (Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo).

Examined material. BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro: male, Angra dos Reis, 13.x.1945, L. T. F., ( MZSP); São Paulo: female, Estação Biológica da Boracéia, 24.i.1968, Ric. Trav. & Trav. F., ( MZSP).

Remark. We did not examine the holotype Ƥ of S. aureoguttatum currently at the Martin Luther Universität, Halle, Germany.
