Silerella elegans Szombathy, 1915: 486 , fig. 12 (female holotype from Tamara Island (Berlinhafen), Biró, New Guinea, HNHM Araneae-5239, examined; juvenile paratype from Stephanosort, Biró, New Guinea, HNHM Araneae-5240, examined); Prószyński 1983: 287 ‒290, figs 19‒20.

Udvardya elegans: Prószyński 1987: 116 View in CoL ‒117 (generic nomen nudum); Prószyński 1992: 114 (from Silerella = Siler View in CoL ), figs 125‒135; World Spider Catalog 2015.

Diagnosis. Similar to U. fortis sp. nov. by the round, well separated spermathecae and abdominal color pattern with narrow lines, but can be recognized by the less marked, almost straight rim of copulatory opening. The insertion of the copulatory ducts at the spermathecae is also more anterior ( Figs 15, 17 View FIGURES 8 – 17 , 43, 45 View FIGURES 37 – 45 , 46, 48 View FIGURES 46 – 51 ).

Description. Female (holotype, Figs 8–17 View FIGURES 8 – 17 , 46‒47 View FIGURES 46 – 51 ). Spider about 7 mm long. Carapace brown, with lateral patches of whitish hairs, located beside PLE and near posterior margin ( Figs 8, 10 View FIGURES 8 – 17 ). Clypeus and cheeks densely covered with whitish hairs ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 17 ). Endites, labium and sternum brown ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 8 – 17 ). Abdomen elongate-ovoid, grayish brown, with dorsal pattern as in Figs 8, 10 View FIGURES 8 – 17 , 46‒47 View FIGURES 46 – 51 . Venter with longitudinal pallid streak, bordered by dark areas ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 8 – 17 ). Spinnerets grayish ( Figs 8‒10 View FIGURES 8 – 17 ). Legs I brown, with paler tarsi; II‒IV yellow, with brown femora ( Figs 8‒10, 14 View FIGURES 8 – 17 ). Leg I spination: tibia 7+7, metatarsus 3+3 ventral spines. Epigyne: CO, CD, S, AG, FD as in Figs 15‒17 View FIGURES 8 – 17 . Dimensions. CL 2.50, CW 1.85, CH 1.15, AEW 1.75, PEW 1.70, EFL 1.50, AL 4.10, AW 1.80, LI: 7.45 (0.90 + 0.70 + 1.55 + 1.00 + 1.75 + 1.10 + 0.45).

Male. Description and illustrations of a male of U. elegans given by Prószyński (1992) are considered enough for its recognition.

Distribution. Known from Tamara Island and New Guinea ( Fig. 52 View FIGURE 52 ).
