Tinker Reed Frog
Material. MOUNT LICO (top): BMNH 2018.2562; MOUNT SOCONE (base): BMNH 2018.2551, PEM A13711–12. Identification. All specimens had a dull cream coloration with a slightly darker backwardpointing triangle on the dorsum before preservation ( Fig. 3P View Fig ). DNA barcoding was used to confirm the species identification and a GenBank BLAST search shows 100% sequence similarity with H. tuberilinguis from Malawi ( MK 509598). Comments. Specimens from Mount Socone were found while raking through dried mango leaves at the Chá Socone tea factory, and the specimen from Mount Lico was found near the small stream that runs through the center of the basin forest. During the breeding season, this species is known to have uniform green or yellow coloration.
