Medinodexia fulviventris Townsend, 1927: 57 View in CoL . Lectotype ³ [by designation of Crosskey (1969: 98); Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden, The Netherlands]. Type locality: Indonesia: Sumatra, Tandjunggadang.

Specimens examined. Malaysia, Borneo: 3 ³³, Sabah, Crocker Range, Inobong , 4–5.ii.2004, T. Tachi & H. Shima leg. ( BLKU, ITBC) ; 4 ³³, Sabah, Crocker Range, Inobong , 2.v.2004, T. Tachi leg. ( BLKU, ITBC) ; 3 ³³, Sabah, Crocker Range, Inobong , 2–5.ii.2006, T. Tachi & H. Shima leg. ( BLKU) ; 4 ³³, Sabah, Crocker Range, Inobong , 23–26.ii.2006, T. Tachi leg. ( BLKU, ITBC) ; 1 ♀, Danum Valley, West trail, 25.xi.2002, Malaise trap, T. Tachi leg. ( ITBC) .

Diagnosis. Very similar to M. japonica sp. nov., but differing from it as follows: antenna with first flagellomere rather long, approximately 4.5 times as long as pedicel; gena approximately 0.2 of eye height; fore tibia with 2 posterior setae; male abdominal sternite 5 elongated, rectangular, distinctly longer than wide; male cercus slightly slenderer than that of M. japonica in lateral view.

Distribution. Indonesia (Sumatra), Malaysia (Borneo).

Host(s). Unknown.

Remarks. Tachi & Shima (2010) included this species, as “ Medinodexia sp.”, in their molecular phylogeny, and it was classified in Blondeliini . It is very similar to M. japonica sp. nov. in the male and female postabdominal characters, but the male sternite 5 differs distinctly from that of M. japonica in the long anterior part. This is the first record of this species from Borneo, Malaysia. No hosts have so far been recorded for this species. A detailed description was given by Shima (1997).
