M. supraspinatus ( fig. 9 )

ORIGIN: From the supraspinous fossa, from the length of the scapular spine, and from the surfaces of the adjacent Mm. subscapularis and spinodeltoideus.

INSERTION: Via a heavy, flat tendon in a small pit at the base of the greater tuberosity of the humerus.

REMARKS: This muscle has the same general form in the 11 study taxa.
