Subgenus Egadroma Motschulsky, 1855

Stenolophus (Egadroma) quinquepustulatus Wiedemann, 1823

It seems surprising that Yu & Tang (2002) and Jaeger & Kataev (2003) were the first to document its occurrence in Hong Kong. Andrewes and Scott (1924) found it under stones in Macao under the name Stenolophus smaragdulus  variation quinquepustulatus Wiedemann 1823  . In Hong Kong, there are 4 distinct forms, the darkest having a completely unmarked elytra and can only be determined by the genitalia. Material: 1 ex. W.T.L., 12.ii. 16; 1 ex. W.T.L., 18.iii.09; 1 ex. W.T.L., 24.ii. 15; 1 ex. W.T.L., 1.iv.06; Ƌ W.T.L., 4.iv. 15; 5 exx. Hong Kong, Mai Po, 16.iv. 15, light trap, several others seen; 1 ex. W.T.L., 16.iv.07; 1 ex. Biology: Imago found March to November. All the above records are close to sea shore, mangroves and marshes of both fresh and salt water. Attracted to light and fully winged.

Stenolophus (Egadroma) ovatulus ( Bates, 1889)

New record for Hong Kong. This mainly South East Asian species has been recorded in Hainan and Fujian Provinces ( Kataev & Wrase 2013), and so should be expected in Hong Kong. Specimens determined from Kataev & Wrase's (2013) redescription of this species. Material: 1 ex. W.T.L., 23.iii.09; 1 ex. W.T.L., 28.iii 14; 1 ex. W.T.L., 29.iii.08; 1 ex. W.T.L., 5.iv. 15; 1 ex. Attracted to light and fully winged.

Stenolophus (Egadroma) smaragdulus ( Fabricius 1798)

New record for Hong Kong. This species has distinctive genitalia and the ventral surface is entirely red. There are two colour forms of this species in Hong Kong.
