Lanistes (Leroya) stuhlmanni Martens, 1897a: 171 View in CoL , pl. 6, fig. 37. Type material — lectotype ( Köhler & Glaubrecht 2006: 211, fig. 3l): ZMB 54311a; paralectotypes: ZMB 54311b (2 spms.). Type locality —“Dar-es- Salaam, auf dem Markt [from the market]”. Distribution —eastern Tanzania ( Brown 1994: 66).

Remarks. Valid species, teste Dupuis & Putzeys (1902: 60), Kobelt (1912b: 33), G.B. Sowerby III (1916: 69), Brown (1980: 55, 1994: 65) and Berthold (1991: 246), who all placed it in Lanistes subg. Leroya .
