5. Epitetracnemus reni sp. n.

( Figs 69−73 View FIGURES 69 − 73. 69 − 72 )

Description. Female. Body length 1.4−1.6 mm. Body generally dark brown, with metallic blue or purple-blue sheen, scutellum medially greenish; antenna ( Fig. 69 View FIGURES 69 − 73. 69 − 72 ) dark brown except F5 and F6, about apical half of clava yellow; fore wing infuscate as in Fig. 70 View FIGURES 69 − 73. 69 − 72 ; fore leg yellow except femur and tibia dorsally marked with dark brown; mid leg ( Fig. 71 View FIGURES 69 − 73. 69 − 72 ) yellow except coxa, median of femur and basal 1/3 of tibia dark brown; hind leg dark brown except apex of tibia, tarsus yellow.

Head. Frontovertex about 1/5 head width at anterior ocellus; ocelli forming an angle of about 30°; posterior ocellus nearly touching inner eye margin, separated from occipital margin by 3 × its own diameter; antenna about 2.7 × as long as wide; pedicel clearly longer than F1; F1−F3 transverse, clearly broader than long; F4−F6 longer than wide or subquadrate; clava nearly as long as funicle; mandible with two teeth and an upper truncation.

Thorax. Fore wing ( Fig. 70 View FIGURES 69 − 73. 69 − 72 ) about 2.6 × as long as broad; marginal vein about as long as stigmal vein; postmarginal vein short or nearly absent.

Gaster. Gaster slightly longer than thorax; ovipositor sheaths slightly exserted, by about 1/9−1/8 gaster length.

Relative measurements. MT 61, OL 76, GL 21.

Male. Generally similar to female except for antennae and genitalia; antenna with two anneliform and a long banana-like clava ( Fig. 73 View FIGURES 69 − 73. 69 − 72 ).

Host. Chionaspis sp..

Distribution. China.

Holotype. Ψ ( IZCAS), CHINA: Hainan, Wuzhishan (qiongzhong), 23.v.1964, ex. Chionaspis sp. on litchi, coll. D.X. Liao.

Paratypes. CHINA: same data as holotype (4 ΨΨ, 8 ɗɗ); same data as holotype except collected 24.iv.1964, ex. Chionaspis sp. on bamboo (3 ΨΨ).

Comments. Epitetracnemus reni is close to E. japonicus Ishii (1923) in general habitus, but can be separated from the latter species as follow: antennal scape more broadly expanded and at most 3 × as long as broad (antennal scape about 4 × as long as broad in E. japonicus ), F1−F3 transverse, subequal in size and distinctly smaller than subquadrate F4−F6 (F1−F2 transverse in E. japonicus ), F1−F4 dark brown and F5 and F6 yellowish-white (F1−F3 dark brown and F4−F6 yellowish-white in E. japonicus ).
