The original description of S. aequus is based on three female type specimens from the area south of Beirut, Lebanon ( PUTHZ 1977). Up to today, no additional records have been reported. In the material from Raifoun (in all about 20 specimens) the variation of the punctation and particularly of the microsculpture of the pronotum and elytra is pronounced.

The previously unknown male primary sexual characters are illustrated in Figs 7-8 View Figs 1-8 . The spermatheca is figured by ASSING (2003: figure 18).
