Alchisme turrita View in CoL is recorded from Country ( Panama) only in Goding 1929e: 207 and in Metcalf & Wade 1965a: 562–563. It is also listed as A. veruta (Germar) , Country ( Panamá) only, in McKamey & Deitz(1996a: 313) who reinstated A. veruta as a valid species apart from A. turrita View in CoL . Goding 1929e: 207 synonymized A. turrita View in CoL with A. veruta Fowler , citing Fowler’s Panama distribution for A. veruta . Alchisme turrita View in CoL distribution, according to McKamey (1998: 178) is Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, and Peru therefore A. turrita View in CoL was erroneously recorded for Panama.
