DIAGNOSIS: This new species differs from Euseius talinga by having much longer setae on the prodorsum and macrosetae sharptipped.
FEMALE (1 specimen).
Dorsum Dorsal shield with scanty striation, 324 long, 165 wide, j1 27, j3 37, j4 20 30, j5 19, j6 17, J2 15, J5 5, z2 29, z4 38, z5 18, Z1 15, Z4 20, Z5 51, s4 47, S2 22, S4 21, S5 20, r3 15, R1 10. Dorsal setae smooth, except Z5 which are serrate.
Peritreme Reaching level between z2 and z4.
Venter All ventral shields smooth. Distances between ST1ST3 57, ST2ST2 61 and ST5ST5 62. With 1 pair of metapodal shields. Ventrianal shield 95 long, 48 wide at ZV2 level and 55 wide at anus level.
Chelicera Movable digit 20 long, apparently with 1 tooth; fixed digit 22 long, apparently with 6 tooth.
Spermatheca Calyx 25 long, filamentous; atrium barely distinguishable; minor duct prominent.
Legs Macrosetae sharptipped: SgeIII 20, StiIII 21, SgeIV 32, StiIV 30, StIV 44.
MALE (1 specimen).
Dorsum Dorsal shield as in female, 216 long and 127 wide. Setae j1 23, j3 33, j4 14, j5 13, j6 10, J2 12, J5 4, z2 26, z4 34, z5 and Z1 12, Z4 16, Z5 40, s4 35, S2 19, S4 17, S5 18, r3 15, R1 10. Dorsal setae smooth, except Z5 which are serrate.
Peritreme Reaching level of s4.
Venter Ventrianal shield 80 long, 115 wide at anterior corners; with a pair of notches on lateral margins at level immediately anterior to the anal opening.
Chelicera Shaft of spermatodactyl 20 long.
Legs – Macrosetae sharptipped: SgeII 18, SgeIII and StiIII 18, SgeIV 30, StiIV 21, StIV 40.
REMARKS: It is noteworthy the fact that a male of this species was found, together with the single known female. No male of the close and common E. talinga has ever been found, as indicated in the remarks under the latter species.
TYPE MATERIAL: Holotype female and allotype male, Adim, Nigeria, on Melantera scandens 17IV92, T.N.C. Echendu, deposited at ESALQUSP, PiracicabaSP, Brazil.
