Diagnosis. Cercal plate in distal half (or third) produced into a single long narrow process, the apex of which generally reaches the level of apices of surstyli; often bearing a single pair of long setae medially (e.g., B. angustisilva ) or numerous long lateral setae ( B. anthracimetopa , B. silva ). Surstylus with a median tooth on inner margin ( B. salicis , B. silva , etc.) or simple ( B. cuneata , B. melametopa ). Processes of sternite 5 nearly always with long dense spines on inner margins (except in B. cuneata , B. deegensis , and others).
