Diagnosis. Cercal plate large and extended distally, with two short submedian processes on distal margin; no trace of a median process ( B. montivaga and B. petrophila have in addition two further lateral processes). Surstylus rather short and wide. Processes of sternite 5 short and rounded, inner margins clothed with dense setulae and hairs, often with 2-3 stronger apical setae.

Species included in this group from China are B. acudepressa (Fan & Ma in Fan et al., 1984a), B. angulisurstyla Xue & Zhang, 1996 , B. depressa ( Stein, 1907) , B. montivaga ( Hennig, 1970) , and B. submontivaga Xue & Zhang, 1996 .
