Diagnosis. Cercal plate wide, often with an irregular distal margin with several points and small lobes, and laterally extended distally. Surstylus short, simple, in lateral view broad and truncate apically, wider than at base. Processes of sternite 5 short. Pregonite nearly always with two widely expanded (foliate) setulae.
Species included in this group from China are B. alcaecerca ( Deng, 1997) , B. brevipalpis ( Jin, 1983) , B. papiliocerca ( Deng, 1997) , and B. truncata ( Fan, 1988b) .
